In Search of Keywords

I have been posting at http://danzen.wordpress.com due to the lack of keywords on Blogger. So pop on over!

Predict-A-Poll: Predict and Vote at Once!

Predict-A-Poll lets you predict the outcome of a poll at the same time as you vote on the poll. The results show the predictions and the votes which gives you an indication if you are predictable and how good a predictor you are.

You can make your own polls to leave in the Predict-A-Poll portal or put on your Blog or Web site. You can also search for more polls on the same topic via keywords. Have fun and please post polls on your site!

If you enjoy predictions you might want to look at Prediction Train too where predictions are voted on and a display over time is available to "track" changes in our society. Prediction Train.

Kirputnik Prematurely Sends Telepathy

Our Webmaster Robot, Kirputnik, has sent out a Telepathy message with the heading of Dan Zen Turns 100 Years Old.

This was based on a proposed interpretation that every Web year is like 10 years of progress in the actual world. 100 Years Old would be Dan Zen's Web Age.

To counter this concept, I would propose that Dan Zen is actually 0 years old. The features just launched could have been launched in 1995 and the features in 1995 could have been launched today. This is what comes of building for a medium - timelessness.

Dan Zen prefers this stance and will perhaps issue a letter of apology.

Welcome to Dan Zen

Dan Zen is a site of games, gadgets, communities and tools. It was created in 1995 and has gone through five major redesigns to hold over sixty original Web features. The current interface is the Dan Zen Deck of Creations which can be found here: http://www.danzen.com. In 2002 Dan Zen was awarded the Canadian New Media Awards Programmer of the Year.

In this Blog, I discuss the features and stories behind them along with creativity and design aspects.

We are just launching a game designed for site creators and Bloggers, called WannaGet. The blog for this game is at http://wannaget.blogspot.com and there is access to the game in the links section of this blog.

I am a full time inventor but, as a pleasant distraction, I have a day job as a Professor at Sheridan in Oakville and have been for several years. I developed the Curriculum for the Interactive Multimedia program at http://imm.sheridanc.on.ca and teach the Web Authoring and Multimedia Pioneering courses. If you like the kinds of features that we build on Dan Zen and are considering some schooling - then please take a close look at our program which has been very successful. An online tour is provided on the site as well as press releases, testimonials, etc. I get to invent even for the teaching environment so it is not that much a distraction.

I do also interact with the physical world in many ways and we will see if this aspect enters the blogs as well...
